See Monterey requested that Carmel-by-the-Sea invest approximately $274,891 in FY 2026–2027, equal to 3% of projected TOT revenues, for regional destination marketing and responsible travel initiatives. The proposal includes free membership for 192 local tourism businesses and dedicates up to one-third of the City’s investment to a Carmel-specific stewardship campaign.
