The Town of Wellton Council approved a solid waste disposal service agreement with Republic Services Copper Mountain Landfill, Inc., piggybacking on a Yuma County contract effective January 1, 2023. As of March 2026, Wellton will pay landfill fees for solid waste disposal based on negotiated rates, replacing a long-standing free access arrangement.
