Bear River Water Conservancy District plans to lease up to 2 acre feet of water annually from Water Right No. 29-1592 to Baxter Land & Livestock for stock watering in Box Elder County. Baxter will pay the District’s wholesale rate, currently $493.32 per year with 3% annual increases through 2029, under a ten-year term contingent on annual temporary change application approvals by the Utah State Engineer.

Renewal Info

Lease term is ten years from the first State Engineer approval of a temporary change application, after which the leased water automatically reverts to the District; the agreement may be modified or renewed only by a written, signed amendment. Either party may terminate earlier if the State Engineer rejects or conditions the temporary change application unacceptably or during an unsatisfactory evaluation, and the District may terminate if Baxter overuses water before paying the annual allocation fee.
