Within the CSAP, Project 1 proposes multimodal safety improvements along five top High Injury Network corridors: Clayton Road, Monument Boulevard, Willow Pass Road, Concord Avenue, and Galindo Street, which together saw 687 injury collisions including 8 fatalities and 52 severe injuries between 2021 and 2025. Proposed measures include speed feedback signs, lighting upgrades, leading pedestrian intervals, high‑visibility crosswalks, ADA curb ramps, high‑friction surface treatments, C‑V2X technology, emergency vehicle preemption, and median access management, and this package is also being advanced as an SS4A Implementation Grant project. No design consultant or contractor is named for these corridor improvements yet, and implementation is contingent on securing funding through SS4A and other sources.
