Tumwater has approved a Service Provider Agreement with Gray & Osborne for the Trosper Road Sewer Extension Design Project, which will extend the sewer collection system west along the Trosper corridor and enable septic‑to‑sewer conversion for roughly 32 parcels. The design scope, funded by a 5,250,000 dollar Water Quality Combined Assistance loan from the Washington State Department of Ecology, covers survey, geotechnical, utility coordination, predesign basin analysis, environmental and cultural resources work, and full 30/60/90/final plans and specifications, with design running from May 2026 through December 31, 2027. This project responds to fecal coliform and total nitrogen hotspots identified in TMDL assessments for Percival Creek, the Deschutes River, Black Lake Ditch, and Budd Inlet, and aligns with the City’s Septic to Sewer program. Once the design is complete, Tumwater will likely move to construction procurement for about 6,900 feet of new gravity sewer mains and stubs, creating substantial opportunity for sewer contractors, trenchless specialists, inspection firms, and outreach providers supporting homeowner conversions.
