The Sohier Park Nubble Light Committee and Richardson & Associates presented a comprehensive master plan to the Select Board on June 8, 2026, addressing circulation, parking, accessibility, resiliency, and visitor amenities at Sohier Park. The preliminary plan calls for improved pedestrian and vehicle circulation, EV charging stations, ADA-compliant parking and pathways, drainage and stormwater management, native plantings, new seating and viewing areas, and upgrades around the gift shop, with an estimated total project cost of about 3078000. The schedule shown is contingent on Select Board approval and anticipates conceptual and permit-level design, a 6–10 month permitting process, construction documents, bidding, and winter-season construction from fall 2027 through spring 2029. No construction contractor has been selected yet, and funding strategies are still under discussion, indicating future procurements for detailed engineering, construction, stormwater and utilities work, and specialty site amenities. Vendors in civil engineering, landscape construction, utilities, ADA/accessibility, EV charging, and park infrastructure services can engage early around design refinement, constructability, phasing, and grant or funding support as the Town moves from master plan to implementation.
