The Plan requires all future development to conform to the Uxbridge Urban Area Stormwater Management Study (July 2000, updated 2002) and any further updates, and makes comprehensive stormwater quality management a precondition for significant new development. It mandates that applicants prepare functional servicing studies for subdivisions and other new development, addressing Lake Simcoe Protection Plan policies, enhanced quality control, detention, and peak control criteria, all under terms of reference approved by the Township and Conservation Authority. This creates continuing demand for stormwater, water resources, and civil engineering consultants to both update the master stormwater study and deliver site‑specific functional servicing reports, design best‑practice treatment systems, and support retrofits and remediation projects.There is also an explicit Township intention to implement remediation measures such as upgrading existing urban stormwater systems, consolidating facilities, and rehabilitating degraded stream reaches, which will require design and construction services over time.

Explicit performance standards include enhanced quality control, 24‑hour detention for 40 mm events, and full peak control up to the 1:100 year storm.
