The MPO will begin the process of selecting and awarding Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funds for FFY 2030 and 2031 projects in July 2026, with completed applications due by 4:30 p.m. on August 7, 2026. The STBG Set-Aside Program (Transportation Alternatives Program) will follow the same schedule, and the MPO has published an online schedule, funding guidelines, scoring tool, and application resources. This grant cycle will fund a range of regional transportation projects, including roadway, bridge, transit, and active transportation improvements, based on the region’s long-range plan Mobilizing Tomorrow. Cities, counties, and transit providers within the MPO area may seek external support for project scoping, cost estimation, benefit analysis, and grant writing; vendors can assist sponsors in crafting competitive STBG and TA applications aligned with MPO scoring criteria and federal requirements.
