Both staff and students will participate in professional development around de-escalation and connection, and participation is voluntary, positioned as a significant leadership opportunity for students. This program indicates an investment in mental health, peer support models, and training for both adults and students. While NAMI is a primary partner, the district may need supplementary curriculum, assessment tools, or crisis-response protocols to integrate Youth Connect with broader MTSS/SEL and mental health frameworks. Vendors providing student well-being platforms, anonymous reporting tools, or training modules on peer support and suicide prevention can present options that extend and sustain the program beyond its initial rollout.
