SGMA grant Component 2, “Well Extraction Measurement Demonstration Projects and Basin Reporting Program,” has a budget of 741,000, with 422,131 billed as of March 31, 2026, leaving about 318,869. Current work includes development of a basin-wide well extraction measurement and reporting framework, acquisition and configuration of a data management system (DMS) to receive production data, and multiple demonstration projects in the Western, Central, and Eastern Management Areas using ET-based tools (LandIQ, OpenET, AgMonitor) and physical metering devices. Tasks cover DMS research and expansion, coordination with landowners, field installation and data collection, and technical memos comparing methods to inform permanent program rules and regulations.This is a high-value opportunity for firms that provide water utility data platforms, metering technology, telemetry, or analytics, as the GSAs and SYRWCD move from pilots to full basin-wide implementation. With DMS expansion and long-term program design still underway, vendors can position to supply or integrate metering equipment, build or enhance the basin DMS, provide QA/QC and analytics services, and help formalize measurement standards for future groundwater fee and SGMA compliance programs.
