The Board of County Commissioners may approve or continue the amendment, which will create a regulatory framework that developers must meet to build temporary workforce housing tied to major projects. This is a policy-stage trigger that will open the door to future applications and permits for workforce housing, generating demand for land use consulting, design, engineering, security planning, water/wastewater solutions, and compliance services. Vendors who can help developers or the county structure compliant projects, impact mitigation strategies, and security/water plans will have an early-mover advantage once the regulations are finalized.
