Lake Alfred is moving ahead with a significant expansion and selective renovation of its public library at 245 N. Seminole Avenue by authorizing Task Order No. 5 with Furr, Wegman & Banks Architects.The task order covers full architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, plus bidding support, permitting responses, and construction administration for the expansion, with civil engineering to be handled separately by Rayl Engineering and Surveying and landscaping/irrigation by the City. The City has set aside a $2,500,000 project budget funded by recreation impact fees, augmented by over $200,000 in Friends of the Library donations and a pending $500,000 state funding request. With a professional services fee of $147,046 now in place, the project is moving from schematic design into construction documents, making this a live pipeline for contractors, furniture/technology vendors, and specialty subs to start engaging around future bid and fit-out needs.

Scope expressly excludes civil/site, landscaping, data/security specs, and several studies, pointing to separate opportunities for engineers, landscape designers, low-voltage/security integrators, and interior systems vendors.
