Laconia Fire Department is piloting a community paramedicine Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program funded by a three-year, $450,000 Health Resources and Services Administration grant obtained with the Partnership for Public Health. From July to December 2025, the program made 250 patient contacts and prevented 39 transports, and a new vehicle for the program, arriving in June 2026, is fully covered by the grant and will remain a city asset. During the budget meeting, the chief said they are actively working with the Partnership for Public Health and grant writers on a business plan and seeking additional grants to sustain and grow the program beyond the current funding period. This presents opportunities for healthcare consulting, data/analytics, and grant-writing firms to support program evaluation, ROI analysis, payer engagement, and multi-source funding strategies that keep MIH services operating after HRSA funding sunsets.
