Hastings Highlands Council is considering transforming Logger’s Field into the primary municipal site for community-led and private events, including markets, cultural events, weddings, concerts, and gatherings. A preliminary engineering review by Perspective Engineering Inc. found that the site is not yet designed or serviced as an event venue and outlined three development options with differing levels of infrastructure, accessibility, parking, servicing, and capital cost.Council is now being asked to define the long-term vision and select a phased development option so staff can proceed with site design, infrastructure planning, cost estimating, public consultation, and ultimately an Events Permit framework and fee structure. This creates pre-RFP needs for planning, design, costing, public engagement, accessibility review, and future construction once Council commits to an option. Vendors in planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, event infrastructure, accessibility design, and construction can position to support Stage 1 design and subsequent capital works.

Three conceptual options range from minimal low-intensity event use (~5k–15k) to mid-scale (~150k–350k) and large festival-scale (potentially 1M+), per the consulting memo referenced in the report.
