Fakahatchee’s plan commits to assessing 78 recorded archaeological and historic sites within four years, updating all Florida Master Site File forms, and preparing a Scope of Collections Statement. Each assessment will require site visits, condition evaluations, threat identification, GPS and photo documentation, and prioritization for preservation or stabilization, including hard‑to‑access sites reachable only by boat or through strand swamps. This work opens opportunities for cultural resource management firms to provide survey teams, GIS mapping, documentation, and reporting services in coordination with DRP and the Division of Historical Resources.Vendors can also support preparation of the collections scope statement and recommendations for treatment of historic hunting cabins, tram remnants, and forestry structures that may be eligible for the National Register.

A predictive model from USF will guide future inventory; this may require GIS integration and technical support.
