Elko County Ambulance is seeking approval to apply for the Fiscal Year 2025 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program in an amount not to exceed 400,000 dollars. The funding would be used to purchase an ambulance and two mechanical cardiopulmonary resuscitation (mCPR) devices, with a required 10 percent cash match of 40,000 dollars to be covered by the Ambulance’s portion of Infrastructure Tax funding. This grant application is at the planning and authorization stage, with the Board set to decide whether to move forward. Vendors of ambulances, cardiac care equipment, grant-writing support, and implementation services can engage early to help shape specifications, pricing, and justifications that strengthen the application and position themselves for the eventual procurement if the grant is awarded.
