During the May 18, 2026 Lyman Town Council work session, Eric Quinney requested the town’s support for placing a 6th penny sales tax on the ballot to fund emergency vehicle purchases and infrastructure projects countywide. The proposal totals 13000000 over roughly a year and a half, and Lyman’s council indicated support while Quinney also reported support from the Uinta County Commissioners and plans to visit other entities in the county. This is an early-stage funding initiative that, if approved by voters, will create a pool of capital for multiple vehicle acquisitions and infrastructure construction or upgrades. Vendors in emergency vehicles, public works infrastructure, engineering, and construction can position now by helping define project scopes, lifecycle costs, and grant/tax alignment ahead of ballot authorization and subsequent procurements.
