City Council has directed Parks & Recreation staff to develop a Master Fee Schedule proposal for discounted facility rental rates for local youth-serving nonprofits and a formal user prioritization policy for the new Multigenerational Recreation & Aquatics Center. The Recreation & Equitable Access Subcommittee has already met and is proposing a 35–55% discount range for local youth nonprofits, expanding beyond the existing 25% nonprofit discount and current 55% sponsorship for the Tahoe Bluefins Swim Club. The subcommittee also outlined a draft priority order for facility scheduling, placing City-run programs and City-sponsored programs ahead of nonprofit and private rentals while allowing staff to adjust for revenue-generating events such as tournaments and conferences. Staff are now seeking Commission feedback in June, with the intent to bring a refined recommendation back to the Commission in July before it returns to City Council for adoption. Vendors that support recreation pricing, scheduling software, policy consulting, or program/facility optimization can engage as the City shapes these policies, which will influence long-term facility usage, revenue strategies, and community access for partner organizations.
