At the December 1, 2025 Government Operations Committee meeting, Bangor Public Health described an order authorizing the City Manager to apply for up to $50,000 in local opioid settlement funds to support integrating a nurse practitioner into the One-Stop-Shop program. Wabanaki Health currently provides basic public health nursing in that space, and there is documented demand for higher-level care; the NP would collaborate with PCHC and Wabanaki to expand on-site medical services related to substance use and associated health needs. This is a targeted, grant-funded clinical expansion within the city’s harm reduction and outreach infrastructure. Healthcare providers, behavioral health organizations, and telehealth vendors can position themselves as implementation partners, while evaluation and data firms may support outcomes tracking required under opioid settlement funding guidelines.
