At the April 20, 2026 meeting, the Parks & Recreation Committee reviewed multiple conceptual design options for Huntersbrook Park and Marsh Hollow Park, which are within a half-mile of each other and intended as recreational anchors for Victoria’s south growth area neighborhoods. Assistant City Manager Alyssa Nelson presented concepts divided into 12 planning areas, highlighting potential amenities, 16 parking spaces, and a focus on topography, native plantings, buffers, and low-maintenance design to support Public Works operations. The committee reached consensus to recommend Huntersbrook Concept 1 with a pump track, play feature, and full basketball court, and Marsh Hollow Concept 2 with an embankment (deconstructive) playground, shade sail structure, and sledding hill. While concepts and preferred amenities are now defined, there is no indication that design or construction contracts have been awarded yet, so detailed design, engineering, and build contracts are likely next steps. Vendors in park master planning, detailed design, playground and pump track equipment, site engineering, and construction can position themselves to help the city translate these concepts into buildable plans and phased implementation.
