As part of the Our Camas 2045 Comprehensive Plan update, the City is drafting significant amendments to its zoning code, including a revised Mixed Use (MX) chapter and a new Mixed Employment (ME) district. The June 16, 2026 Planning Commission workshop will focus on policy choices like required residential/commercial mix, shared parking incentives, affordable housing incentives, and employment-area design and warehousing limits that will apply to future development and redevelopment citywide. The draft language emphasizes higher-density mixed-use neighborhoods, flexible employment zones, multimodal access, shared parking, and design review, but it is still under discussion and not yet adopted. This is a pre-RFP planning window where Camas may need outside support for economic analysis, code drafting refinement, design standards, parking and traffic studies, and implementation tools once the plan is adopted. Vendors in planning, urban design, traffic/parking, economic development, or code update implementation can position offerings to help the City operationalize these new districts and support property owners navigating the new rules.
