Niagara Region Renews Battery Recycling Deal With Call2Recycle

Niagara Region has entered into a renewed agreement with Call2Recycle Canada Inc. to fund and manage the collection and recycling of consumer-type portable batteries from household hazardous waste depots, multi-residential buildings, and Regional facilities. The one-year agreement, with automatic annual renewals, aligns with Ontario’s extended producer responsibility regulations and is expected to support diversion of roughly 24,000 kg of batteries per year at no net program cost to the Region.
