WSU, Mount Baker SD Sign Five-Year Internship Pact

Mount Baker School District No. 507 entered into a five-year agreement with Washington State University’s College of Education, Sport and Human Sciences to provide teacher candidate internships and related field experiences. Under the agreement, WSU will place and supervise teacher candidates in the district and pay mentor teacher stipends of $200 per semester per teacher candidate directly to the mentors. The agreement can be renewed by mutual written consent and may be cancelled by WSU if state funding for the teacher preparation program is not appropriated.

Initial term is five years beginning August 1, 2026, and the agreement may be renewed for additional periods if approved by both parties in writing. The University reserves the right to cancel if funds are not appropriated by the Washington Legislature for the teacher preparation program, and either party may terminate with at least thirty days’ written notice before the start of any University semester.
