State Parks considers 30-year trail easement to Spokane Valley

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is considering authorization of a 30-year easement agreement with the City of Spokane Valley for approximately 16 acres at Spokane River Centennial State Park Trail. The City would pay a one-time $58,194 fee to develop and maintain an ADA-compliant pedestrian trail, viewpoints, and forest health and wildfire fuel mitigation work, while assuming ongoing maintenance responsibilities. The easement is non-exclusive, non-transferable without state approval, and prohibits permanent buildings and formal river access.
