Kingston to treat wastewater from Sojourner Truth Park

The City of Kingston is entering into a long‑term agreement with the State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the Palisades Interstate Park Commission to provide wastewater treatment services for Sojourner Truth State Park. The Owner will construct and finance a $1.12 million force main sewer system, while the City will treat the Park’s wastewater at a metered rate not exceeding the published outside‑city sewer rate plus a 50% surcharge over an initial ten‑year term with renewal options. Quarterly billing will flow from the City to the Town of Ulster and then to OPRHP for payment.
