Asheville Ends Automated License Plate Reader Contract

The City Council of Asheville has adopted a resolution directing the City Manager to immediately terminate the City’s contract with Flock Safety, which provides automated license plate reader technology for eleven devices in the city. The City is also instructing Flock Safety to remove its hardware and is suspending access to Flock data pending a broader policy review.
