The City of Great Bend declined a request for a fireworks display to be conducted by Victory Pyrotechnics & Special Effects LLC for the Great Bend Recreation Commission’s Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt on March 28, 2026. The motion to approve the event within city limits failed on a 2–3 council vote after discussion of fire risk.
