Additional TAP funds for Island Lake Regional Trail tunnel

SEMCOG plans to increase its Transportation Alternatives Program contribution by $2,180,694 to the Michigan DNR’s Island Lake Regional Trail project, bringing its TAP share to $3.2 million in FY 2027. The additional funds will construct a bicycle and pedestrian tunnel under a CSX rail line to preserve a key Great Lake to Lake Trail connection.
