District inks five-year SRO pact with Tioga County Sheriff

Spencer-Van Etten Central School District is entering a five-year School Resource Officer agreement with the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department, under which the district will pay up to $50,000 for an officer assigned to school buildings during school hours and selected events. Tioga County will provide and supervise the SRO, supply a marked police vehicle, and maintain required insurance and data privacy protections.
