Lumberton City Council approved a $54,000 agreement with Pelton Aggregates to crush about 5,000 tons of concrete debris for use as aggregate base, funded from the water and sewer capital reserve fund. The in-house crushing option was significantly cheaper than purchasing quarry granite.
