USBR and CVWD expand compensated Colorado River conservation

Coachella Valley Water District and the United States Bureau of Reclamation have multiple conservation agreements under the Lower Colorado River Basin Conservation and Efficiency Program to reduce consumptive use through curtailed replenishment, land fallowing, and new tertiary treatment facilities. These agreements provide compensated conservation of more than 200,000 acre‑feet of Colorado River water through 2058.
