Emory Commits Payments, Jobs in Brookhaven MOU

Emory University is party to a proposed Memorandum of Understanding with the Brookhaven Development Authority under which it will make approximately $15.8 million in Infrastructure Payments and retain at least 250 full-time jobs at the MSK Facility. In return, Emory receives property tax savings and relief from Special Tax District Taxes while supporting construction of the MSK Bridge Project through easements and ongoing obligations.

Special Tax District millage is capped and Special Tax District Taxes are waived during the Incentive Lease, contingent on conveyance of a perpetual easement by EUEP by December 31, 2026; if bridge construction does not commence by January 1, 2030, Infrastructure Payments must be reprogrammed for other agreed Special Tax District projects.
