Jefferson County School District Awards Professional Services Contract to Eastern Kentucky University (August 2026)

The Jefferson County Board of Education entered into an agreement with Eastern Kentucky University to provide an expedited Option 9 pathway to initial teacher certification. EKU will deliver coursework, supervision, and support leading to a bachelor’s degree and certification within three school years while the district employs and mentors participants. The partnership continues until all participating district employees complete or exit the program.
