City considers new electric franchise with TNMP

The City of La Marque is considering Ordinance O-2026-0014 to grant Texas New Mexico Power a ten-year nonexclusive electric franchise to provide power distribution within city rights-of-way. The agreement establishes quarterly street rental payments based on kWh delivered and sets conditions for facility placement, relocation, indemnity, and continued service. The 2015 franchise ordinance would be repealed and replaced upon final approval.
