The Common Council is considering Resolution 25-22 to join Great Lakes Utilities (GLU), a municipal electric company formed to provide low-cost and reliable electric power to its members. Rice Lake Utilities currently partners with AEP Energy for wholesale energy needs, but management is open to exploring options that best serve ratepayers. Joining GLU would allow Rice Lake to participate in bulk power supply projects and other electric utility-related activities.
