Nueces County WCID No. 3 and the City of Corpus Christi entered into a Water Rights Lease Agreement under which the District leases up to 5 million gallons per day of its Nueces River water rights to the City, which in turn will reimburse the District up to $1,736,000 for interconnection project costs. The lease runs for an initial three years from its Commencement Date and automatically renews for successive three‑year terms unless either party gives 180 days’ notice.
