City to join provincial hazardous materials response team

The City of London plans to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the Fire Marshal for the London Fire Department to join the Provincial Hazardous Materials Team effective January 1, 2027. Under the MOU, the City will receive $160,000 annually plus full cost recovery for deployments and provincially funded training while retaining the right to withdraw with notice.
