First Baptist Church Provides Post-Fire School Space

Following the June 1889 Seattle Fire, Seattle School District again turned to the First Baptist Church at Fourth and James to house displaced classes from Brown’s Pavilion under a temporary rental arrangement. The church-supported annex helped maintain instruction while permanent facilities were rebuilt.
