The district is partnering with Fellsmere Joint Venture in a public‑private pilot project to provide dispersed water storage and nutrient reduction on agricultural lands in Indian River County. With 60% design complete, the project will move into permitting, final design, and construction in FY 2023–24 to improve Indian River Lagoon water quality and redirect treated flows toward the St. Johns River Basin.
