The Assembly approved a 25-year ground lease with Southeast Alaska Power Authority for approximately 44 acres of Borough land to construct a solar and battery energy storage project enhancing regional grid reliability. SEAPA will pay $1 per year in base rent while investing an estimated $6 million in energy infrastructure and granting priority power benefits to Wrangell.
