Description

McKinney Independent School District has entered into a contingent-fee contract with Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Hullett, P.C. to provide legal services for the collection of delinquent property taxes. The Firm will receive 20% of delinquent taxes, penalties, and interest collected, with an initial term running through September 1 of the fifth year following execution and automatic one-year renewals thereafter.

Contract Term

Initial term runs until September 1 of the fifth year following the Effective Date, after which the agreement automatically renews for successive one-year terms unless either party gives at least 90 days’ prior written notice of non-renewal. The District may terminate during the initial term or any extension for unsatisfactory performance after a 30‑day cure period and 30‑day termination notice; the Firm continues collections for up to six months post-termination on previously referred matters.
