District Partners With Special Olympics for UCS Program

Lyon County School District entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Special Olympics Nevada, Inc. to implement the Unified Champion Schools Program during the 2026–2027 school year. Special Olympics Nevada will provide a $4,200 grant in two installments to support transportation and program costs for unified sports, inclusive youth leadership, and whole school engagement. The agreement runs through July 2027 and may be renewed in writing with board approval.
