National Grid starts $330M transmission reliability project

National Grid is launching the multi-year Sandy Pond to Tewksbury Reliability Project, investing more than $330 million to replace aging 115kV and 345kV transmission structures and lines between Ayer and Tewksbury, including sections through Chelmsford. Construction begins in August 2026 with phased work continuing into winter 2032.
