Valdez Renews Three-Year IPAWS Emergency Alert MOA

The City of Valdez Police Department renewed its three-year memorandum of agreement with FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) to continue using Nixle/Everbridge for wireless and broadcast emergency alerts. The renewed MOA replaces the prior 2023 agreement and maintains IPAWS connectivity for citywide public warnings.

This MOA supersedes the prior IPAWS agreement dated May 9, 2023 and will remain in effect for the life of IPAWS-OPEN’s ATO or a maximum of three years from the latest signature date, after which it must be renewed. Either party may terminate with 30 days’ notice or suspension may occur for failure to perform required monthly proficiency demonstrations.
