The City of Soldotna approved a Facilities Management Agreement with the Soldotna Equestrian Association granting exclusive management of the Soldotna Rodeo Grounds from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2036. The nonprofit will handle day-to-day operations, grounds and on-site utility maintenance, livestock control, and insurance, with options to renew the agreement for up to 30 total years. In exchange, the City secures professional management of the facility and ultimate ownership of all improvements upon termination.

Initial term runs July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2036, with three optional renewal terms of five years each upon mutual consent, for a maximum agreement duration of 30 years. The Association must give written notice of its desire to renew not less than 60 days and not more than 120 days before expiration of the then-current term. If the Association holds over without a written renewal, the arrangement converts to a month-to-month extension terminable by the City with 30 days’ notice.
