Initial term is one year from July 1, 2026; parties are not obligated to renew and any subsequent Master Contract must be renegotiated prior to expiration. If negotiations are not completed by the expiration date, the Master Contract remains in effect for up to 90 days under Education Code 56366(c)(1), during which either party may appeal after 60 days for mediated contract formulation. Payments under a new Master Contract are contingent on timely execution; if not signed within 90 days of issuance, payments cease until execution and new rates are not retroactive.
