Sterling, Elgin plan alternative education cooperative MOU

Sterling Public Schools plans to enter into an Alternative Education Cooperative Memorandum of Understanding with Elgin Public Schools for the 2026-2027 school year, under which Elgin will serve as the LEA providing alternative education services for Sterling’s at-risk students. Sterling will assign its state alternative education funds to Elgin and coordinate transportation, records, and student support as outlined in the MOU.
