The City of South Gate proposes Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. 2022-83-CC with United Pacific Services, Inc. to extend citywide tree maintenance services through June 30, 2027 and change the trimming cycle from four to five years. Original contract approved September 27, 2022 for a four-year term with up to four one-year extension options. Amendment No. 1 (September 26, 2023) increased the contract by $861,425 for hazard mitigation and off-cycle trims, raising the total not-to-exceed amount to $4,650,970. Amendment No. 2 (April 2025) reallocated Year 3 bid item funding without changing the total Year 3 amount of $1,145,098. Amendment No. 3 exercises the first one-year extension option, sets compensation for July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 at not to exceed $859,955 with a 3% unit price increase, modifies the trimming cycle to five years, and increases the total aggregate not-to-exceed amount to about $5.51 million. City reserves the right to exercise up to three remaining one-year extension options.
