The City of Hickory approved applying to the NC Department of Environmental Quality’s State Revolving Fund to finance UV disinfection conversion projects at the Henry Fork and Northeast wastewater treatment plants. The funding would support design and construction to replace existing chlorine gas and sulfur dioxide systems with ultraviolet disinfection.
