Ames Construction, Inc. was awarded the primary construction contract by the County Board in August 2024 in the amount of $22,358,281.02 for the Merriam Junction Regional Trail project. A budget amendment was made for tree clearing and seeding, bringing the total construction cost to $22,501,614.93. The project includes 2.4 miles of paved trail, a new bridge over the Minnesota River, and three smaller bridges for pedestrian and bike trail use with a timeline of Q2 2024 - Q4 2027.
